I've become quite an enthusiast for electric vehicles recently. My first EV was a German-built CityCom City-El which I brought to the UK and registered for road use here in 2009.

Most modern EVs use some form of PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation) motor control. I made a simple PWM motor controller for a demonstration at my local EV owners' group and the details are here.
